About the role:
You will oversee land use resource consents and Environmental Management aspects of subdivision consents, ensuring compliance with consent conditions and relevant regulations. Additionally, you will support the team leader in mentoring and supervising staff, managing workloads, and occasionally assist the Planning and Development team with resource consent applications and planning tasks.

You will have a tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management and will be eligible for Membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or equivalent is desirable.

About the role:

Responsibilities of the role:
- Monitoring of conditions imposed on resource consents and site visits, to make sound decisions to ensure compliance
- Responding to “Requests for Service” from the public and also from other departments within Council
- Providing accurate, technical and dependable regulatory and enforcement advice to all Council departments as necessary in accordance with Council’s Enforcement Strategy.
- Preparing and serving permits, notices, infringements and court enforcement orders
- Checking Building Consent and Project Information Memorandums for compliance with the District Plan

What you'll bring:
You will have a tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management and will be eligible for Membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or equivalent is desirable.
To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Significant knowledge and demonstrated Experience (7+ years) in resource management,
enforcement or local government - Sound knowledge of related legislation and legal procedures
- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail
- Ability to mentor staff and develop strong capabilities
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence
