About the role:
As a Parks and Reserves Planner, you’ll be involved in the strategies, policies, plans and bylaws that relate to open space, sport and recreation. This includes Reserve Management Plans, Development Plans and Reserve Permits.

What you'll bring:
You’ll be tertiary qualified in planning or a related discipline and will have a number of years experience working within a similar environment. You’ll have a strong knowledge of resource consents, the development of strategy and policy or parks management or landscape design and will be eager to use this knowledge in a local government setting. You’ll have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build genuine relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

About the role:
As a Parks and Reserves Planner, you’ll be involved in the strategies, policies, plans and bylaws that relate to open space, sport and recreation. This includes Reserve Management Plans, Development Plans and Reserve Permits.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Supporting the resource consents process for consents adjacent to reserve land, or where there are any effects on reserve land
- Advising and providing support to QLDC on relevant legislation, policies, plans, guidelines, and processes and providing professional advice to the Regulatory and Planning departments
- Providing input into Licences and Leases held on reserve land, working closely with QLDC’s Property Team
- Coordinating public education and awareness programmes on reserve and amenity functions, planning and day to day management
- Ensuring community engagement while developing and implementing local reserve related policy, strategy, and capital projects
