Lead the day-to-day operations of our group fitness program and deliver quality group fitness classes as per the group fitness timetable, ensuring a professional, positive, and engagingexperience for participants. You will be a key support in the retention and growth of participants at Alpine Health & Ftiness by promoting activities to participants, ensuring an engaged and informed member base

You’ll have previous experience working in a gym environment, hold the below listed qualifications and will have a high level of knowledge of equipment and fitness best practice. A naturally strong communicator, you’ll enjoy engaging with our varied customer base and providing coaching and instruction. You’ll also be confident and capable in responding to any emergency situations.

Responsibilities of the role:
- Design and manage an engaging group fitness class schedule that meets our community’s needs and introduce fresh, innovative fitness offerings to keep us ahead of the curve.
- Cover group fitness classes, ensuring a quality experience for participants.
- Recruit, coordinate, and mentor a high-performing team of instructors.
- Develop in-house training workshops and contribute to regular member communications.
- Plan events and initiatives that build community and boost member engagement.
- Collaborate with QLDC teams to align programming and promote our services.
- Uphold a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.
- Oversee fitness contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, contractual agreements, and invoicing procedures.

What you'll bring:
You’ll have previous experience working in a gym environment, hold the below listed qualifications and will have a high level of knowledge of equipment and fitness best practice. You’ll also be confident and capable in responding to any emergency situations.
- Certificate in Fitness Level 3 or equivalent (essential).
- Preferably a diploma or tertiary qualification in a relevant fitness field.
- REPs registration (preferred).
- Current Comprehensive First Aid certificate.
- 3+ years’ experience in a fitness environment (can substitute formal qualifications).
- Proven leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- A proactive, positive attitude and ability to engage diverse groups.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to health & safety best practices.
