As the Food & Beverage Duty Manager, you will be playing a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of all Food & Beverage outlets. You will oversee the efficient management of shifts at the ‘Whitby's’, our 150-seat à la carte and buffet restaurant and the Piano Bar. Simultaneously, you will manage our cozy café and bar in the hotel lobby, ‘Sojourn,' which serves a range of offerings from coffee by day to cocktails by night, as well as room service and the Harbour Lounge on the 26th floor. Additionally, you will also support shifts in our diverse range of Conferences & Events spaces. This role offers numerous exciting challenges and opportunities for growth. The role involves ensuring a high standard of service, set-ups, and catering facilities, overseeing staff, managing guest relations, and optimising operational efficiency to enhance the guest experience.
The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a large, high-quality operation. They should possess experience in managing teams, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be energetic team players. A passion for hospitality and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential. Candidates should also have solid organisational skills, a good knowledge of food and beverage, and the ability to maintain high standards. The role demands a focus on staff training and development and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment, requiring quick thinking and adaptability.
The successful candidates must be available for both morning and afternoon shifts, starting primarily at 6:30 am and 3:00 pm, with occasional mid-shifts beginning at 12:00 pm. The position operates on a 7-day rotating roster, so flexibility in availability is essential.

The ideal candidates for this role will:
- Hold a diploma or postgraduate qualification in Hospitality
- Possess a License Controller Qualification
- Have a First Aid Certificate
- Demonstrate the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team
- Be committed to prioritising customer needs
- Exhibit strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Have excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Be highly organised and efficient
- Bring previous experience in a similar role within a hotel environment
- Show a passion for the hospitality industry and a drive to contribute to the success of our hotel across all operations
