We’re looking for a Strategy Planning Manager (Three Waters) to join our team. This is a 6-month fixed term position starting in May. If you're a motivated, innovative professional with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, apply now!

About the role:
Located in Queenstown and reporting to the Strategy and Infrastructure Planning Manager, this role is responsible for the strategic and long-term infrastructure planning for QLDC Property and Infrastructure Directorate for Three Waters.

You will lead a highly engaged team in managing and developing planning resources and the proposal ofservice outcomes, provide planning expertise into Spatial Growth Planning and the 30 years Infrastructure Strategy, and will deliver future focused Three Water masterplans.

You will also lead the delivery of the Water Services Delivery Plan, oversee the development of improvement programmes, monitor the delivery of feasibility and design phases for storm water management projects and other relevant duties.

What you'll bring:
You will be a highly motivated and innovative professional with a minimum of 10 years of relevant post- qualification experience. You will bring proven leadership and team management expertise along with strategic infrastructure planning experience. Experience in strategic three waters or infrastructure-related Better Business Cases is essential, along with a drive to deliver excellence and foster innovation.

To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
  • Engineering degree desired or another relevant discipline (must be Bachelor’s degree)
  • A strong understanding of three waters engineering, current industry practice, business case processes, urban planning policies, local and national government legislation, council practices and constraints
  • Strong technical, analytical, verbal and reporting skills
