About the role:
You will be leading a high-performing team and play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Queenstown Lakes District. As our Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and mentor a team of technical experts, ensuring the successful delivery of transport, three waters, and solid waste infrastructure programmes. Through your leadership you will ensure quality assurance, drive technical excellence, and support sustainable project outcomes.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Leading, developing, and supporting a team of engineers delivering capital projects
  • Providing expert technical assurance across the design and construction lifecycle
  • Overseeing engineering gateway approvals and peer reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with QLDC’s standards, codes of practice, and legislation
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align delivery with strategic outcomes

What you'll bring:
You will be an experienced, confident and capable leader with a solid engineering background and a passion for infrastructure that supports our growing community. Your ability to guide technical decisions, manage complexity, and build strong relationships will be key to your success.

To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
  • A Bachelor of Engineering and proven experience managing CAPEX for infrastructure delivery projects
