A varied and interesting role, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering strategic policy advice across a range of areas. You’ll ensure strategic policy aligns with the strategic direction of the organisation and will work across council advising on and entrenching policy.

What you'll bring:
You’ll have a qualification in Public Policy or Public Management and will have worked within the field for a number of years. You’ll have experience within a government or government adjacent organisation and will have sound knowledge of related legislation and central policy.

Responsibilities of the role:
- Anticipating and identify emerging issues, trends and problems
- Contributing to the community submission processes including advocacy, data gathering and analysis
- Contributing to bylaw scheduling, preparation and drafting
- Developing high-quality policy advice for Councillors, the Chief Executive, and the Executive Leadership team
- Working with key internal stakeholders to help translate our strategic and planning documents into action
- Managing progress using the Council’s systems and processes for monitoring, measuring, reporting, risk identification and management, and quality assurance

What you'll bring:
You’ll have a qualification in Public Policy or Public Management and will have worked within the field for a number of years. You’ll have experience within a government or government adjacent organisation and will have sound knowledge of related legislation and central policy.

- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to effectively work with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills
